We are located inside the beautiful Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park, 8737 US-19, Port Richey, FL.
Once you have entered the park, continue to the end of the main drive and you will see our tiki hut & trailer to your left.
Use the restroom in the elevated building and continue down the boardwalk.
We’re waiting for you down at the launch!

Every kayak and canoe rental includes life jackets, whistles, and paddles to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience on the water. Life jackets are required, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Please note that the state park entry fee is not included in the rental price and must be paid separately online on the day of your visit.

Yes, we are a single-point launch and return location, meaning no shuttles or van rides are needed—you’ll start and finish at the same spot!
Kayak owners are welcome to launch from the same area at no extra charge, apart from the state park entry fee, which must be paid online the day of your visit.
Please note, the launch site is approximately 150 yards from the parking lot.

Prepare for the Florida sun with hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen—it’s powerful even on cloudy days!
For added protection, we recommend wearing rash guards or lightweight long-sleeve shirts.
Bathing suits are ideal since “sit-on-top” kayaks often result in a wet seat during your adventure.
While swimming isn’t permitted within the park, experienced kayakers are welcome to paddle out to Durney Key to enjoy some island time and take a refreshing dip.

Swimming is not permitted inside Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park due to the abundance of oyster beds and wildlife, which are essential to the park’s ecosystem.
The nearest spot for a swim is Durney Key, located about a mile offshore.
We recommend this trip only for experienced paddlers, as you’ll need to navigate open water and cross a boat channel to reach the key.

No, our kayaks are for same-day use only and must remain on-site at Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park. They cannot be transported in a vehicle or used at other locations. We’re here to help you make the most of your day exploring the park’s beautiful waterways!

If your reservation is canceled in advance by the Salty Dog team due to unsafe weather, you can choose to receive either a refund or a credit for future use.
If you are asked to return to the launch during your reservation because of unsafe weather, a credit will be issued for a future visit. Refunds are not provided in this case.
For reservations canceled by the guest, a credit for future use will be offered.
